Some are covered by the employer, while others are paid through the social security system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c873f24 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"c873f24\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Maternity Leave (Article 170)<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eeb377a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eeb377a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1363\">Pregnant employees are entitled to 12 weeks of paid leave, split as:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1363\">6 weeks before childbirth<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1418\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1418\">6 weeks after childbirth<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1570\">This leave is paid by IMSS, the Mexican Social Security Institute. If medically recommended, the entire leave may be taken after the baby is born.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b71545a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b71545a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em>\u201c Working mothers shall be entitled to six weeks of leave before and six weeks after childbirth.
